HIGHLIGHTS
FULL DAY ITINERARY
Our day begins with a complimentary pick up from your accommodation in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. For anyone interested in history and current events, our guide will provide some background information on this sprawling city and its role in the country.
After leaving town, we drive west out of the city on increasingly winding and scenic roads, heading upwards into the low and lush, Andean Mountains. Among nature lovers, this region is known for its natural diversity, and we'll be stopping at a couple of viewpoints to admire the subtropical landscapes.
We then continue to the start of the trail where our guide will provide you with a refreshment and a quick safety briefing. While challenging at some points, the trek takes place at relatively low elevation with lots of oxygen and warm weather. The reward is arriving at an idyllic viewpoint known to be the junction between the Andes and the Amazon Basin. If lucky, it is not rare to be accompanied by the majestic Condor de los Andes. After climbing down from our viewpoint, meet our vehicle again and start making our way back to Santa Cruz.
On the way, time/weather permitting, we will stop at Las Cuevas waterfalls for a refreshing bath in natural pools under picturesque waterfalls in a tropical setting. Continue our return drive and arrive back in town in the evening between 6 and 7 pm.
