This guide will provide you with updated information (2022) on how to get from La Paz to Uyuni via bus, plane, train and tour.
Bus
Buses are now running nightly again. Most recommended are Todo Turismo ($US 30-40), Titicaca ($20) and Trans Omar ($15-20) all leaving between 7 and 9 pm from La Paz’s central bus station in downtown and arriving between 5 and 7 am at the bus stop (no actual bus station in Uyuni) in downtown Uyuni.
Flights
Only Boliviana de Aviacion is flying Wednesday, Friday, Sunday (5:50 – 10:10 am) from La Paz to Uyuni. The same goes for the return flight leaving from Uyuni at 10:45 and arriving 13:15 at La Paz on the same days. Rates vary from USD 117 to around 300 one way. Amaszonas is no longer flying this route nor is any other airline.
Train
Regular passenger service departs from the city of Oruro on these days and schedules according to this but as far as we know, they are not running anymore due to the pandemic.
Tours
